In Eph. 5:23 the Holy Spirit wrote: "For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, being himself the saviour of the body." Please remember that Jesus is the "head of the church." This means that he has the authority to tell us what should and should not be done by the church in its faith and practice. This harmonizes with His statement claiming all authority in giving the apostles the commission to preach the gospel in all the world. Matt. 28:18.
Recognizing Jesus as the head of the church is a far different attitude than is manifested by those who say that the church does not need authority for what it believes and practices. Accept Jesus' authority. Meet with the Compton Road Church Sunday!
