After Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan, it is
Deepika Padukone who is making India us proud not
only by their Bollywood films but also with their
work in international films and series.
The latest to join the bandwagon is dancer-
choreographer-actor, Salman Yusuf Khan. The
Dance India Dance winner and face of India's first
3D dance film, ABCD: Any Body Can Dance' has
bagged a role in a Hollywood film.
As per our sources, Duane Adler, the man behind
the blockbuster Step Up series has roped in Salman
Yusuff Khan in his upcoming movie Heartbeats.
Speaking about being part of Duane Adler Salman
said, "He was at a rehearsal where one of his
assistants told about auditioning for Duane's next
as they were looking for dancers in India. He was
interested to choreograph when he learnt that his
friend is doing the casting of the film. He came
across a crazy character which he felt he was able
to do it."
Elaborating more, he added, "I am playing
antagonist in the film. He has his own international
underworld dancing troupe and how he overtakes
and messes the life of the leads. He is full of
himself and in awe of his personality. It's a big role
for me and I am looking forward to it. The leads
are essayed by Christine Ellsworth she was seen as
a dancer in Justin Bieber group. The male
protagonist is essayed by Amitash Pradhaan who is
a south Indian actor."
When quizzed when the movie will be releasing,
Salman said, "We are wrapping up the shoot today.
The movie has widely been shot in America and
Mumbai and by next year on Valentine's Day."
Talking about his future projects, Salman quipped,
"I will be seen in Remo D'Souza's next Ballroom.
It's a musical dancing love story. Dancer Shakti
Mohan is opposite me. We will start shooting for
the movie soon."

I love Salman! I can't wait for Ballroom (Wish it was Isha opposite him instead 😆)! It's pleasure watching him dance!

EXCLUSIVE: Das Films, Myriad Pictures and Bowery Hills Entertainment's dance pic Heartbeats has just begun production in India ahead of the start of sales at theEFM in Berlin. Professional dancer Krystal Ellsworth (Fame, Iron Man 2), Indian actor Amitash Pradhan and Paul McGillion and Daphne Zuniga are headlining the cast. Step Up creator Duane Adler wrote the script and is directing. Check out the first-look photos above and below.
Heartbeats tells the story of Kelli (Ellsworth), a feisty American hip hop dancer who travels to India with her parents (McGillion and Zuniga) for a week-long Indian wedding and falls in love " both with a new style of dance and with a determined young man who introduces it to her (Pradhan).
Jay Z's Roc Nation is producing the soundtrack's original songs alongside composer Gingger Shankar, an Oscar nominee for The Passion Of The Christ. The soundtrack will feature traditional and current Indian music and American hip-hop and R&B. Emmy Winning Dancing With The Stars choreographer Tessandra Chavez is the supervising choreographer and Shampa Gopikrishna is choreographer for the Indian dancing. While not classified specifically as a Bollywood film, this should have appeal for fans of the genre which increasingly span the globe.
Justin Chon (Twilight) and India's Salman Yussuf Khan (ABCD), Kishori Shahane and Mohan Kapur round out the cast. Adler, who wrote and created the dance moviesStep Up and Step Up 2, most recently wrote and directed Make Your Move for Lionsgate.
November Mans Sriram Das is producing with Andrea Chung (Seoul Searching), and Karine Martin (Maina). Myriad Pictures is selling international rights to the project in Berlin, with the company's Kirk D'Amico executive producing.
The film is co-financed by Dance Network, whose founder Julie Stadler and CEO Brian Williams will serve as executive producers. Dance Network recently acquired and launched Skyway Studios in Nashville.
Adler is repped by Paradigm and Untitled Entertainment. Ellsworth is repped by Abrams Artists and Archetype.

Oh her! Dayum she is an awesome dancer, oh how i fell in lobe with her character in Rocky movie, good old days. Also loved that hide n seek Ad with Hritik, and wished would get a movie opposite him, aha kiya sapnay thay 😆 but yeah she would look good in a dance movie. Never knew she was in jhalak(as i barely watch that show). But Shakti is as good as anyone although people hate her as eon over Dharmesh, although very few people acknowledge she deserved it as she was top performer in all epispdes bar one two hiccups.
